The OBX Gobbler 5K & Fun Run
The OBX Gobbler 5K & Fun Run takes place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Nags Head, North Carolina. The event is presented by Barrier Island Group (B.I.G) and includes a 5K race and a shorter fun run. The race uses clock timing only; there is no chip timing.

Registration closes at midnight on Sunday, November 24, 2025. Pricing listed: 5K $45, Fun Run $10. There is no race day registration. Packet pick-up is available Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm; race day packet pick-up is available near HomeGoods just north of the Food Lion, with bib-only distribution at 7:30 am and shirts available after the race. All 5K participants receive a race-themed shirt; shirts must be picked up and will not be mailed. Shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for registrations after November 5, 2025.
The event supports the community through three local non-profits; specific beneficiaries are to be announced. Course maps for both events are provided. Parking is at Outer Banks Mall, 5000 S. Croatan Highway, Nags Head; parking is not allowed at the Food Lion or the Outback Steakhouse. Post-race hospitality includes a light breakfast and coffee for registered participants only.
