The OBX Gobbler 5K & Fun Run
The OBX Gobbler events take place in Nags Head, North Carolina on Thursday, November 26, 2026. Two running events are offered at the same occasion: a 5K and a shorter fun run. Clock timing is used; there is no chip timing. The event is presented by Barrier Island Group.

Registration opens on August 14. Fees listed in the event information are $45.00 for the 5K and $10.00 for the Fun Run. Online registration deadlines are given for November; registration details differ by event. The event is described as a fundraising event; there are no refunds or transfers. The race will be held rain or shine but may be delayed or cancelled for unsafe weather such as lightning.
Packet pick-up is scheduled the day before the event on Wednesday, November 25 and there is race day packet pick-up on Thursday, November 26 at a location near HomeGoods just north of the Food Lion. On race morning only bibs are handed out and shirts are available for pickup after the race. All 5K participants receive a race themed shirt; shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed if not registered by November 6 and extras may run out.
A cash incentive is offered for 5K bib pick-up on Wednesday evening. Parking is available at Outer Banks Mall, 5000 S. Croatan Highway, Nags Head. Post race hospitality includes light snacks and beverages for registered participants only and no alcohol is permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
