The Night Thing 2026
The Night Thing 2026 is a trail race organized by Race Huron along the Maitland Trail, with staging at the Auburn Riverside Retreat in Auburn, Ontario. The event is scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2026.

Racing takes place in darkness; participants are asked to bring a personal light source such as a headlamp. Registration opens on May 1, 2026. Registrations made after September 22 are not guaranteed a t-shirt due to limited quantities. The listed fee for each distance is CA$65 and the 7.21K was shown as sold out at the time of publication.
The refund policy states fees are non refundable and non transferable. If the event is cancelled because of weather and is not rescheduled that year, collected fees, less online registration fees, will be applied to the next year's race. Net proceeds are directed to the local community and/or charitable organizations.
