The Night Thing 2026
The Night Thing 2026 takes place on October 23, 2026 along the Maitland Trail, starting at the Auburn Riverside Retreat on Blyth Road in Auburn, Ontario, Canada. The event is held in darkness and participants are asked to bring a headlamp.
Distances offered:
- 7.21 km trail distance
- 12 km trail distance
Registration opened May 1, 2026. Published fees for both distances are CA$65 for the displayed registration periods. The event is currently listed as full. Registrations submitted after September 22 are not guaranteed a t-shirt due to limited quantities for late entries.
The refund policy states that fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If the event is fully cancelled because of weather and not rescheduled that year, fees minus online registration charges will be applied to the next year's race. Proceeds go to the local community and/or charitable organizations.
