About the Event
The Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund Run is a community sports event held in Goderich, Ontario. This event serves as a fundraiser for the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund, which purchases life-saving defibrillators for public buildings in memory of First Responders who have died in the line of duty.
The event features a new starting area and a new route for participants. All race distances are designed as out-and-back courses, where runners reach a marked turnaround point before returning to the start.
Distances
Participants can choose from the following categories:
- 5 km: A 2.5 km out and 2.5 km back route.
- 10 km: A 5 km out and 5 km back route.
- Half Marathon: A 10.55 km out and 10.55 km back route.
- Kid’s Run: A free event operated by the YMCA that includes a warm-up session and participation medals.
Participant Information
Registered runners receive a commemorative event towel and a selection of surprise swag items. Entry also includes participation in door prize giveaways and a grand bike draw. After the races, a buffet-style breakfast featuring fruit, yogurt, granola bars, coffee, and juice is provided for all registered participants.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in each distance. Additionally, all finishers receive a commemorative medal to recognize their achievement. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
