About the Event
The Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund Run is a charity race supporting the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund. The fund is dedicated to donating defibrillators to public buildings in the name of fallen first responders who died in the line of duty. The 2026 edition features a new starting area and a new route.
Available Races
Participants can register for three distances, all of which are out-and-back courses:
- 5 km (out for 2.5 km, back the same way)
- 10 km (out for 5 km, back the same way)
- Half Marathon (21 km, out for 10.55 km, back the same way)
A free kids' run, sponsored by the YMCA, is also held.
Practical Information
The event takes place on May 10, 2026. The main location is the Rotary Cove at 352 Cove Road in Goderich, Ontario. Race bib pickup is available the day before at the Goderich Legion (56 Kingston Street), or on race day at the venue.
All registered participants receive a medal and are invited to a post-race buffet breakfast. A prize draw, including a bicycle, is held for registered entrants. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers in each race distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
