Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund Run in Goderich
The event takes place on May 10, 2026 at 352 Cove Road, Goderich, Ontario. It features multiple road race distances and supports the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund, which purchases defibrillators for public buildings. In 2024 the fund donated 27 defibrillators, bringing the total to 201, with 7 confirmed lives saved.
Offered distances:
- 5 km out-and-back: 2.5 km out then return
- 10 km out-and-back: 5 km out then return
- Half marathon out-and-back: 10.55 km out then return
A Kid's Run is free and requires no registration. It starts at the stairs by the pavilion at the Rotary Cove and finishes at the Rotary Cove Arch; all children receive a bib and a medal.
Race bib and kit pickup is available the day before at The Goderich Legion (56 Kingston Street) and on race day at The Rotary Cove (352 Cove Road). Registered participants are invited to a buffet-style post-race breakfast with fruit, yogurt, granola bars, coffee and juice; family and friends may join for a donation.
Prize money is listed for each distance (1st place $100, 2nd place $75, 3rd place $50) and all participants will receive a medal. A prize draw for registered entrants will be held on May 5; winners will be notified by email. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
