- 1 Mile: Known as the Night Mile, featuring specific timed waves.
- 10K & Night Mile: A double event combining two distances.
- 5K & Night Mile: A double event combining two distances.
The Night Mile is organized into five distinct corrals based on estimated finish times. These include a Community Wave for all ages and paces with a 15-minute cutoff, an Intermediate Wave for times between 7:00 and 9:00 minutes, and a Fast Wave for runners between 5:30 and 7:00 minutes. The event also features Elite Finals for women capable of running under 6:30 minutes and men capable of running under 5:30 minutes.
The evening concludes with a post-race gathering along the Des Moines Riverfront. This portion of the event takes place against the backdrop of the city lights and includes music provided by a DJ. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
