The Night Run DSM
The Night Run DSM is an evening running event in downtown Des Moines that offers multiple timed race options and a post-race gathering on the Des Moines Riverfront. The course starts in the MRKT District and runs through downtown using parking ramps, viaducts, bridges, and city streets.
Available distances include:
- 10K
- 5K
- Night Mile
There are also combined entry options that pair the Night Mile with the 10K or the 5K.
Registration opens March 20 and closes April 1. Listed registration fees are $48 for the 10K, $35 for the 5K, $20 for the Night Mile, $68 for the Double 10K and Night Mile, and $55 for the Double 5K and Night Mile.
The Night Mile field is organized into five corrals. The Community Wave is open to all ages and paces and has a 15 minute cutoff. The Intermediate Wave and Fast Wave are for runners who expect specific finish paces. Separate elite finals are offered for women and men who meet faster pace thresholds.
After the races a DJ-hosted post-race party is held along the riverfront with the city lights as a backdrop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
