The Next Loop: Endurance Series - Lake Carl Blackwell, Stillwater OK
The Next Loop is a loop based endurance event held on a clearly marked 3.1 mile (5K) trail loop at Lake Carl Blackwell Park in Stillwater, OK. The format lets participants complete repeated laps; each finished loop counts toward a cumulative distance total.
Loops begin on the hour and each loop time is recorded from that hourly start to the moment the runner crosses the finish line. Results rank participants first by number of loops completed and then by combined time. There are no penalties for stopping; completed loops remain on the official result.
Distances accumulate by loop count, for example:
- 1 loop = 5K
- 2 loops = 10K
- 4 loops = Half Marathon
- 9 loops = Marathon
- 10 loops = 50K
An aid station is available at the central base area before each loop to provide hydration and basic nutrition. The centralized loop format also facilitates support from friends, family, or crew between laps. The entry fee is a flat $100.
