About the race
The Bad Santa 5K is a timed five kilometer run in Carondelet Park, St. Louis, taking place on Sunday, December 20, 2026. The course starts and finishes near the park Boathouse and follows park roads and paths.
The route passes lakes, woods and railroad tracks and is described as offering winter scenery. Participants receive a custom race shirt and a finisher item.
After the run there is an official afterparty at Urban Chestnut Bierhall in The Grove. Urban Chestnut provides a free post-race beer for participants, and Fordo’s Killer Pizza offers discounts on pizza during the afterparty.
The event supports a winter coat drive. Organizers collect new and gently used coats, hats and gloves for the Kurt Warner First Things First Foundation and Warners’ Warm-Up. Operation Food Search will handle distribution of collected items to people in need.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, each receiving a gift card from Running Niche and a commemorative award. Age-group awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in these groups: 19 and under; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; 70 and over.
