The New Orleans Ultramarathon and Half
The New Orleans Ultramarathon and Half is a fully urban race that routes participants through streets, neighborhoods, parks, and waterways of New Orleans. The event offers three distance options:
- 50 miles
- 50K
- Half Marathon
The longer distances start at Jackson Square downtown while the half marathon starts at Louisiana Running Company. All events finish at Second Line Brewing. Course maps are emailed to participants and are not posted online.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at Louisiana Running Company. A two mile shakeout run is organized at the packet pickup location. Drop bags are permitted; they must be clearly marked with the runner name, waterproof or water resistant, and well sealed. The organizer is not responsible for lost bags.
Pacers are allowed for all runners, limited to one pacer at a time. For 50K and 50 mile runners, pacers may join at or after Aid Station #3, around mile 15. Aid stations provide food and drinks and some stations include indoor restrooms or port o potties. The Race Director may allow leniency for aid station or finish cutoff policies.
Finishers receive event swag including a shirt, medal, sticker, and trucker hat; 50 mile finishers receive an additional finisher coffee mug. There is a cash prize for a new course record. All sales are final; refunds, bib transfers, and deferrals are not offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
