The Navy Yard 5K (and 1 Miler)
The Navy Yard 5K is a community-minded running event at Central Green in Philadelphia that brings together runners, tenants, and local organizations around fitness and camaraderie. The event offers two distances:
- 5K
- 1 Miler
Participation is free and all participants receive Navy Yard 5K-branded swag. The event includes a Health + Wellness Expo on Central Green featuring Navy Yard tenants and other companies focused on workplace health, wellness, nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle; confirmed exhibitors include URBN, Courtyard Marriott, AVE Living, Rothman Orthopaedics, Chobani / La Colombe, ASICS / Philadelphia Runner, AlchemyX, MedSpa, PICD, SEPTA Key Advantage, and Hair Vyce Studio.
The event partners with WMMR on the Camp Out for Hunger campaign for Philabundance. Organizers ask registrants to join a team representing their corporate group, and there will be a prize for the largest corporate team. The course is not officially measured and may not be an exact 5K or mile. Bag check will be available during the event. After the run there are awards, music, refreshments, and food trucks.
