The Mystery Race
The Mystery Race takes place at Lamasco Park in Evansville, Indiana. The event utilizes the Greenway Passage for an out-and-back course that starts and ends within the park. This event is characterized by its hidden distances, as the exact length of the courses remains undisclosed to participants until the event.
Participants can choose between two distance ranges:
- A short course ranging between 3 km and 5 km
- A long course ranging between 6 km and 8 km
Because of the "mystery" theme, the organizers suggest that those taking part leave GPS watches and mobile phones in their vehicles to maintain the surprise regarding the exact distance covered. The event is professionally timed, and the race proceeds regardless of rain, though delays may occur in the event of dangerous weather conditions.
All finishers receive a custom die-cast medal. Participants who register by the early November deadline are guaranteed an optional race shirt, while a limited supply is available for later registrants. Awards are presented to the overall winners and runners-up in both distance categories. Additionally, recognition is given to the top three male and female finishers across various age groups, ranging from 13 and under to 80 plus.
Pre-race check-in and bib pickup are available at Ultimate Fit two days prior to the event, with additional check-in opportunities available at the park on the day of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
