The Mutt Strut - Swansboro
The Mutt Strut takes place on October 10, 2026 at Hammocks Beach State Park in Swansboro, NC, near 1572 Hammocks Beach Rd. The event supports Misplaced Mutts and the Misplaced Mutts spay, neuter, and wellness clinic in Atlantic Beach. Events are offered for participants running with a dog and for those running without a dog.

- 1 Mile (untimed fun run)
Registration opens August 31, 2026 and closes October 10, 2026. Registration fees are $40 for the 5K and $35 for the 1 Mile fun run. Registrants receive a T shirt; 5K participants also receive a participation medal. Registrations completed by September 21 are guaranteed a T shirt.
Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in both the with-dog and no-dog 5K categories. The course begins at the trailhead near the Visitors Center, follows the marked blue route out, and returns on the marked yellow route to the same start and finish location.
