MT Tammany 10
MT Tammany 10 is a multi-loop trail ultramarathon scheduled for Saturday 20 March 2027 in the Delaware Water Gap area. The route covers about 40 miles with more than 12,000 ft of elevation gain and consists of ten repeated loops that include ten separate ascents of Mt Tammany. The event is limited to 65 runners and has a 12 hour time limit.
The loop route starts and finishes at the Kittatinny Parking Lot Pavilion and runs to the Dunnfield parking area. From Dunnfield runners follow the Red Dot trail to the Mt Tammany summit, transition briefly on a blue-blazed connector, descend Mt Tammany, cross the river, and follow the Appalachian Trail for about one third of a mile back to Dunnfield. Runners repeat this sequence for a total of ten loops. Runners must return to the Start/Finish pavilion for check in and loop verification after the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, and final loops.
Course markings rely on existing trail blazes: white blazes on the Appalachian Trail and blue dot and red dot markings on Mt Tammany trails. Crews are permitted only at the Start/Finish area, which will serve as the primary aid station and drop bag location. Pacers are allowed beginning on a runner’s eighth ascent. Entry fee is $130 and awards are given to all finishers, with special recognition for finishers under 10 hours. Registration opens each year on October 10 via the event registration system.
