Event Overview
The Mt. Tammany 10 is an approximately 40-mile (64 km) ultramarathon in the Delaware Water Gap area of New Jersey. The event consists of ten loops, each featuring a climb to the summit of Mt. Tammany.
Course Details
The course starts and finishes at the Kittatinny Parking Lot Pavilion. Each loop follows this route:
- Run to the Dunnfield parking lot.
- Ascend Mt. Tammany via the Red-Dot trail.
- Traverse approximately half a mile on the Blue-Blaze trail.
- Descend Mt. Tammany on the Blue-Blaze trail.
- Cross a river and run about one-third of a mile on the Appalachian Trail back to the Dunnfield parking lot to begin the next loop.
The event involves ten ascents of Mt. Tammany, totaling over 10,000 feet of elevation gain. The course features mountain views on the climbs and passes waterfalls with the sound of rushing water on the descents.
Logistics
Runners must check in at the Start/Finish Pavilion after every second loop (loops 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10) for verification. Aid will be provided in the Dunnfield Parking Area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
