Event overview
The Hair of the Bear 15K & 5K takes place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Shawnee On Delaware, PA, at the Shawnee Inn and ShawneeCraft Brewing Company property. ShawneeCraft Brewing Co. presents the event as part of the Good Day for a Run series. Races are professionally chip-timed and staffed with water stations and course marshals.
Distances
- 15K - starts and finishes at the brewery; includes about 5 miles on the McDade Trail.
- 5K - run/walk on the Inn property and neighboring roads; finishes at the brewery.
Race amenities, awards and policies
Finishers receive a brunch buffet and a custom finisher medal. Participants 21 and older receive one complimentary ShawneeCraft beer; soda is provided for under-21 finishers. The event provides a custom-designed shirt in adult, women’s, and youth sizes and a custom beer glass. Free downloadable race and after-party photos are available. Live music is scheduled in the brewery after the race. Awards include medals for the top three overall and age-group male and female winners (14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, then every 10 years). Packet pick-up occurs on race day at the ShawneeCraft brewery; a second date is to be determined. The event is held rain or shine; there are no refunds or deferrals.
