The Mt. Baldy 5000
The Mt. Baldy 5000 is a mountain 5K held at Mt Baldy Resort in Mt Baldy, California. The course is 5K (3.1 miles) and is almost entirely uphill, with most running on fire roads. Footing is described as good for the majority of the route and the course offers extensive views. The route is set on the resort slopes and is described as spectator friendly.
This edition is reported as sold out. The event includes an untimed hike before the main run and a postrace gathering at the Top of the Notch restaurant. The afterparty features a barbecue dinner, live music, and drinks, and the evening concludes with a chairlift ride back to the parking area. The barbecue dinner is available only as an advance purchase add on at registration. The Mt. Baldy 5000 is part of the Los Angeles Mountain Running Series and this is the third running of the event.
