The Mt. Baldy 5000 is a mountain 5K held at Mt. Baldy Resort in Mt Baldy, CA. This is the third running of the event. It is part of the Los Angeles Mountain Running Series. The event is currently sold out.
Course and event details
The course is 5K (3.1 miles) and is described as almost entirely uphill. Most of the route follows fire roads with generally good footing and is noted as spectator friendly. An untimed pre-race hike is offered.
After the run, an afterparty at the Top of the Notch restaurant includes a BBQ dinner, live music, and drinks. The BBQ dinner must be purchased in advance as an add-on. The post-race program finishes with a chairlift ride back to the parking lot; the ride is described as lasting about 15 minutes. There is a bag check service available for participants.
