Event Overview
The Mother Fricker is a distance-based running event held at Frick Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The event emphasizes camaraderie and the simple joy of running through a non-competitive format. Participants can choose between individual trail loops or aim to complete all distances offered during the day.
Course Details
The event is structured as a series of four separate loops. Each loop originates and concludes at the Lower Frick Park Play Area soccer field. The distances are categorized into four distinct segments:
- 8 Miler (Alpha loop)
- 6 Miler (Beta loop)
- 4 Miler (Gamma loop)
- 2 Miler (Delta loop)
Participants who complete all four loops consecutively achieve the The Mother Fricker 20, totaling 20 miles of running.
Registration and Participation
There is no registration fee required to participate in any of the distances. Instead of a traditional entry fee, the event encourages donations of retired running shoes to support charities. Additionally, participants may bring canned goods for donation to the local community food bank.
