Montane Lakeland 50 & 100
The Montane Lakeland 50 & 100 is a weekend endurance event in the Lake District, taking place Friday 24 to Sunday 26 July 2026. The Lakeland 100 is a complete round of the Lakes by footpaths and bridleways, starting and finishing in Coniston, totaling 100 miles with about 6,300 metres of ascent. The Lakeland 50 provides a 50-mile option, starting from the Dalemain Estate north of Pooley Bridge and finishing in Coniston, with around 3,100 metres of ascent.
The route traverses Dunnerdale, Eskdale, Wasdale, Buttermere, Keswick, Matterdale, Haweswater, Kentmere, Ambleside and Elterwater before returning to Coniston, and is described as the UK’s most spectacular long-distance trail race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
