The Montane Lakeland 50 & 100
The Montane Lakeland 50 & 100 is a weekend trail event taking place in the Lake District around Coniston on 24 to 26 July 2026. The event offers two long distance foot races that use almost entirely public footpaths and bridleways and run on a circular route that encompasses the Lakeland fells.
Routes and key facts:
- 100 miles, circular Lakeland route, about 6300 m of ascent
- 50 miles, starts Dalemain Estate, about 3100 m ascent, finishes Coniston
The Lakeland 100 route starts and finishes at Coniston and follows a clockwise loop passing through Dunnerdale fells, Eskdale, Wasdale, Buttermere, Keswick, Matterdale, Haweswater, Kentmere, Ambleside and Elterwater. The 50 mile event starts at Dalemain Estate north of Pooley Bridge and finishes at Coniston.
