Event Overview
The Missing Slice - Love, Hope & Pizza 5K is an annual community event held in Adrian, Michigan. Organised by the Lenawee Endurance Club in partnership with Hungry Howie’s, this event focuses on raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research, support, and early detection through the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The event takes place at 785 Riverside Ave., starting and finishing at Adrian High School.
The event offers two distinct distances for participants:
- 5K: A timed run or walk through the city on open roads.
- 800m: A half-mile fun run loop for children aged 12 and under.
Course Information
The 5K route follows a course designed to keep participants off major thoroughfares like Maumee St. Since the roads remain open to traffic during the event, crossing guards, police officers, and volunteers are stationed at major intersections to assist runners and walkers. Participants in the 5K have a two-hour time limit to complete the course. The 800m Kids Run takes place on a loop that begins and ends at the official start line, and parents are permitted to run alongside younger children.
Participation and Awards
Awards are presented to the first overall male and female finishers following the conclusion of the timed race. Participants in the Kids Run receive a finisher medal and a T-shirt, provided they register by the specified deadline in early October. Strollers and walkers are welcome to participate in the event.
Dedicated parking is available on-site, with specific areas designated for participants in the Blue Lot and volunteers in the Green Lot. Following the physical activities, all participants can access complimentary pizza provided by the event sponsor. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
