The Missing Slice - Love, Hope & Pizza 5K
The Missing Slice is the third annual community event organized by the Lenawee Endurance Club in partnership with Hungry Howie's, held in Adrian on October 24, 2026 at Adrian High School, 785 Riverside Ave., Adrian, MI 49221. The event raises funds and awareness for breast cancer research, support, and early detection through the National Breast Cancer Foundation; the community fundraising goal is $2,500 and 100% of donations go directly to that foundation.
Participants can choose from these distances:
- 5K Run/Walk: timed event with overall awards.
- Kids Fun Run: for ages 10 and under, loop starting and finishing at the official start line.
The 5K is run on open roads with volunteers, police, and crossing guards stationed at major intersections. Participants are allowed up to two hours to complete the 5K; strollers and walkers are welcome. Awards include First Overall for male and female and are presented after the race. Kids who register by October 12 are guaranteed a T-shirt; fun run participants receive a finisher medal and T-shirt.
Post-race pizza will be provided to participants by Hungry Howie's. Parking areas are designated by color on race morning, with a green lot reserved for volunteers and a blue lot for participants; any changes will be communicated before the event. Course notes for 2026 include removal of the bus loop at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
