The Mile - Terre Haute
The Mile, presented by Pacesetter Sports, takes place on July 4 at Indiana State University Memorial Stadium in Terre Haute, Indiana (3300 Wabash Ave). The course begins one mile north of the stadium on Brown Blvd and finishes on the stadium grounds.
The event program includes separate women and men mile races, a walk-only mile, and a Lace It Up! Kids Running Program mile. Registration fees listed for the events include a typical fee of $20 and a free registration option for participants in the Lace It Up! Kids Running Program; shirts are not included with that free registration but an optional add-on shirt purchase is available. Registration windows open on different dates for specific events.
Heats are staged in sequence with female runners first, male runners next, and then walkers and the kids running program. Awards are presented for overall finishers, age groups, and walkers; age group awards are based on five-year increments. Proceeds from the event support the Lace It Up Kids Running Program of the Wabash Valley Road Runners.
Event amenities include Kona Ice available after the race. Participants registered as walkers are asked to remain walking for the full event to preserve fairness for competitive walkers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
