The Mental Mile - Aberdeen, SD
The Mental Mile is a one-day event on June 20, 2026, held at 400 24th Ave NW, Aberdeen, South Dakota. It offers a 1 mile option that can be completed as a walk or as a Fully Automatic Timed (FAT) run on a flat, no-turn course.
An aid station will be available courtesy of Dakota Roots, and refreshments are provided at the finish area. Walkers must remain on sidewalks; strollers and wagons are permitted. Registration carries a fee of $25.00 and has defined open and close dates surrounding the event.
Age categories are 17 and under and 18 and over, determined by age on race day. Medals are awarded for first through third place in both male and female divisions. The first 200 registered participants receive a rally towel and a canvas tote.
Event proceeds benefit H.U.G.S (Hope, Understanding, Grief, Support), an Aberdeen-based support group, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Registration and onsite check-in occur near the Holgate Tennis Courts parking lot, and an awards ceremony and refreshments follow the activity.
