The Memorial Mile
The Memorial Mile is a community one mile running and walking event held in Lansing on May 24, 2026 at 3900 Stabler St, Lansing, MI 48910. The program includes two simultaneous events: a mile run and a mile walk. Both events use chip timing and each participant receives a medal and a short sleeve race shirt.
Registration details are tiered by date. Early registration is available through May 17 with a $25 fee and a guaranteed shirt. A higher fee applies from May 18 to May 23 with no shirt guaranteed. Race day registration is more expensive and does not guarantee a shirt. Ages 18 and under have a reduced entry fee of $20 applied automatically. A friends and family discount reduces the price by $3 per person when three or more people register together; the discount is applied automatically.
Awards are presented for both the run and the walk. Top three male and female finishers are recognized in two age divisions: under 39 and 40 and over. Results are available live at the event and posted afterward.
Packet pickup takes place on race morning at the track beginning at 8:30 am. Proceeds support track and field equipment for Lansing schools. The event is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
