The Blast 5km Series at The Meadows is a monthly mid-week 5K run held in The Meadows, Edinburgh (East Meadows Play Park, Melville Drive, EH9 1ND). The course is an officially measured and licensed 5K route and is described as flat. Events take place on monthly Tuesdays in 2025, including 7 October, 11 November and 16 December.
Entry, results and charity
The event is open to all runners, including children over 11. Standard entry fees are £7 for members and £9 for non-members. A £2 insurance levy applies to non-Scottish Athletics members and is passed to Scottish Athletics. Registration is handled on site (cash and card accepted). Prizes are awarded to first male and first female in all age categories for online entries. An optional finisher's medal is available for an additional £5. Results are submitted to Run Britain Rankings. The event supports Lifecare Edinburgh and donates £1 per runner each month; since the start of 2025 it has raised over £624 for local organisations.
