The Maverick Dark Hampshire Gravel 2026
The event takes place on Saturday 31 October 2026 at Alice Holt Forest, a historic woodland that forms part of the South Downs National Park and lies on the Hampshire/Surrey county boundary. The course uses 5 km laps; entrants choose one, two or three laps to complete distances of 5 km, 10 km or 15 km.
Distances and elevation:
- 5 km - 69 m elevation gain
- 10 km - 133 m elevation gain
- 15 km - 194 m elevation gain
The route runs on wide tracks and tree-lined avenues; participants navigate by the light of a head torch. There is one outpost on each lap offering sweet and savoury snacks and Precision Hydration fuel and electrolyte. The event aims to be cup free at outposts so participants should bring a reusable cup or bottle.
Facilities and services include free parking, a fully marked and timed course with online results, event photography, a bag drop area, food and drink on site, and a metal finisher medal. The venue is about 4 miles from Farnham and 2 miles from Bentley train station; there are direct trains from London. The event is not dog friendly. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Headphones are not permitted and a head torch, phone, trail shoes, rain coat, foil blanket and water bottle or running pack are listed as essential items.
