The Maverick Hampshire Dark Gravel 2026
The Maverick Hampshire Dark Gravel takes place on Saturday 31 October 2026 in Alice Holt Forest, a wooded area on the Hampshire/Surrey boundary that forms part of the South Downs National Park. The event is run as repeated 5 km laps, allowing participants to choose the number of laps that suit them.
- 5 km, one lap, elevation gain +69 m
- 10 km, two laps, elevation gain +133 m
- 15 km, three laps, elevation gain +194 m
The course follows wide open tracks and tree-lined avenues through ancient woodland. Participants will run by headtorch light and pass a single outpost on each lap. The outpost offers a range of sweet and savoury snacks and Precision Hydration fuel and electrolyte. There are self-serve water barrels; pre-filled cups are not provided so runners are asked to carry a reusable cup or bottle.
Facilities and services listed for the event include free parking, a fully marked and timed course, online results, event photography, a bag drop area and food and drink available at the finish. The event is not dog friendly. Headphones are not permitted and participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
