The Maverick Dark Hampshire Gravel 2026
The event takes place on 31 October 2026 in Alice Holt Forest near Farnham. Participants run repeated 5 km laps by head torch, choosing to complete one, two or three laps through tree-lined tracks in an ancient woodland that forms part of the South Downs National Park and sits on the Hampshire Surrey boundary. The forest is described as having wide tracks and avenues with a mix of open sections and tree cover.
Distances on marked and fully timed routes:
- 15 km Elevation gain +194 m
- 10 km Elevation gain +133 m
- 5 km Elevation gain +69 m
There will be one outpost per lap offering snacks and Precision Hydration electrolyte refills. The event aims to be cup free at outposts so participants should bring a cup or bottle. Facilities listed include free parking, bag drop, event photography, online results and a metal finishers medal. Food and drink are available at the finish and fire pits are mentioned as a warming area.
Entry details note that online entry closes 29 October 2026 and on the day entries may be available if not sold out. The event is not dog friendly. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Essential items include a head torch, phone, trail shoes, rain coat, foil blanket and water bottle or running pack.
