The Maverick East Sussex Trail 2027
The Maverick East Sussex Trail is a trail running event at Stanmer Park, Brighton, East Sussex (BN1 9RH) on 3 April 2027. The course uses sections of the South Downs Way and includes chalk downland, woodland tracks, open farmland and rolling, undulating trails. The route passes Ditchling Beacon, described in the event material as the third-highest point in the South Downs National Park.
Three route options are available with stated elevation gains:
- Half Marathon 21 km, +457 m elevation
- Middle 13 km, +339 m elevation
- Short 5 km, +147 m elevation
The event provides a fully marked course, timing and online results, event photography, a bag drop area and a metal finishers medal. Outposts supply sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte drink; the event aims to keep outposts cup free so participants are asked to bring a cup or bottle. The event is dog friendly but a dog must be added to an entry and spaces are limited.
Practical information supplied includes pay and display parking at the University of Brighton Falmer (BN1 9SF), a 15 minute walk from the event area, and Falmer train station at about a 5 to 10 minute walk. Participants are advised to carry or pack phone, trail shoes, rain coat, long sleeve top, foil blanket, water bottle or running pack and a reusable cup.
