The Matchstick Amazing Races
The Matchstick Amazing Races is a community fitness event held in Wadsworth, Ohio during the Wadsworth Blue Tip Festival’s celebration. The event is hosted by Great Oaks CrossFit and offers multiple race options for families and community members on June 27, 2026. The venue is Art Wright Stadium at 280 Grandview Avenue.
Distances offered:
- 1 Mile Community Walk/Run for families and children
- 5K Matchstick Dash with course twists to engage racers
- 5K Matchstick Madness Team Obstacle Course, teams of two
The team obstacle course combines running with CrossFit and Hyrox style movements and easy course games, including burpee broad jumps, stair climbs, lunges, sled pushes, and other fitness challenges. All 5K participants receive race swag, including a custom event T-shirt and a finisher medal. T-shirt sizes are offered from Youth Small to Youth X-Large and Unisex Small to 2X-Large; a no-shirt option is available for a five dollar discount. To be guaranteed a shirt size, registration must be completed by June 14.
Pre-race packet pick-up is scheduled at Great Oaks CrossFit Community Fitness, 251 Great Oaks Trail, Wadsworth, Ohio. Packets include the race bib, event information, and participant swag. Awards are given for the 5K Dash by overall and age group placements, and for the Team Obstacle Course by top teams in male, female, and co-ed divisions.
