The Matchstick Amazing Races
The Matchstick Amazing Races is a community fitness event held in Wadsworth, Ohio, as part of the Wadsworth Blue Tip Festival. The event is hosted by Great Oaks CrossFit at Art Wright Stadium and includes family and competitive race options.
Participants can choose among these course options:
- 1 Mile community walk/run for families and children
- 5K Matchstick Dash with twists along the course
- 5K Matchstick Madness team obstacle course for two-person teams
All 5K participants receive event SWAG including a custom event T shirt and a finisher medal. T shirt sizes are offered from Youth Small to Youth X Large and Unisex Small to 2X Large; a no shirt option is available for a $5 discount. To be guaranteed a shirt size, registration should be completed by June 14; a limited selection may be available after that date.
Pre-race packet pick-up occurs before race day at Great Oaks CrossFit Community Fitness, 251 Great Oaks Trail, Wadsworth, Ohio. Packets include the race bib, event information, and participant SWAG.
Awards are planned for the Matchstick 5K Dash and the Matchstick Madness Team Obstacle Course. The 5K Dash awards top 3 overall male and female and top 3 in age groups 1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. The team obstacle course awards the top 3 teams overall in male, female, and coed divisions.
