Event
The Marathon Day York Social Run takes place on 26 February 2026 at Hamilton Panther's Clubhouse, Knavesmire Road, York. It is a 6-hour timed event held on a 5 km loop that is entirely on paths. Runners use the loop in alternate laps clockwise and anticlockwise. The event is organised as a social run for people to run, walk and chat together; completing a marathon distance is optional. The event will be officially timed and results will be published. Everyone taking part will receive a memento. Refreshments, cake and food will be available at the clubhouse, and there will be an aid station, toilets and showers.
Practical information
Maximum entries are 73 and entries close on 19/02/2026. Minimum age is 17 years. Entry fees listed are Affiliated £26.00 and Unattached £28.00. Race numbers are collected at registration on the day. Organiser terms state no refunds; transfers and deferrals are allowed but only up to 7 days prior to the event.
