Bridges Academy The Mama Bear Run 5K - West Islip, NY
The Mama Bear Run 5K is a community running event held on May 8, 2027 at The Bridges Academy in West Islip, New York. The event is held rain or shine and includes a main 5K run/walk and a free kids fun run. The course follows residential roads through West Islip and runs along the Keith Canal.
Registration details note a deadline of April 19 to guarantee a race shirt. Registrants can request a personalized bib by registering three weeks before the event. Bib pickup is available from event staff starting one hour before the event; last-minute registrants receive a bib number by text within about 90 seconds.
On-course and event amenities include refreshments, same-day finish line photos and video, and post-race raffle items and giveaways. Live online, email, and text results are provided, and finish-line photos are available the same day.
Awards include recognition for the first mother finisher and the top three male and female overall finishers. Proceeds from the race benefit the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition.
