The Maer 10km & Half Marathon

The Maer 10km & Half Marathon is organised by LMEvents and takes place on 26 April 2026 on the east coast of Devon, with the start line at Sidshore and a finish in Exmouth. Now in its seventh year, the event uses a single start route that splits after 5 km to create two distinct races.

Both courses are chip timed and run as single laps. The 10 km is a single lap route beginning on Exmouth seafront, passing through the town and rejoining the coast path for a downhill approach to the Geoneedle before the finish. The half marathon is a multi-terrain single lap that follows a disused trainline to Budleigh and then climbs nearly 1000 ft along the coastal path back to Exmouth. Runners who do not reach the 5 km split within the 36 minute cut off (about 8 minutes per kilometre) will be directed onto the 10 km route by marshals.

Distances:

  • 10 km: single lap, Exmouth seafront, coast path, downhill to Geoneedle.
  • Half marathon: single lap, multi-terrain, disused trainline to Budleigh, coastal climb nearly 1000 ft.

There is an option to purchase a finisher medal or enter as a no medal entry to reduce waste. Entry prices listed for 2026 range from £21 to £34. Reviews and ratings for the event highlight scenic coastal views, varied terrain and positive marshals, alongside occasional reports of course measurement issues. The event has an aggregate rating of 4.5 from 41 reviews. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
