The Maer 10km & Half Marathon
This event on Devon's east coast offers two distances that start and finish together. The courses split after the first 5 km. Both routes start on Exmouth seafront.
- The Maer 10km Challenge is a single-lap course. It winds through Exmouth before joining the coast path to experience a downhill stretch leading to the Geoneedle. The route then hugs the coast path back to the finish.
- The Maer Half Challenge is a multi-terrain, single-lap course. It follows a disused trainline towards Budleigh Salterton before climbing nearly 1000ft along the spectacular coastal path back to Exmouth. There is a 36-minute cut-off at the 5 km split point (an 8 min/km pace); runners not meeting this time will be directed onto the 10 km route.
The event is chip-timed. Participants can choose a 'No Medal' entry option at a lower price, which helps reduce waste. Finisher medals are guaranteed only for 'Medal Entry' registrations completed before a specified cut-off date. On-the-day entries may be available.
The race features course records. For the 10 km, the records are 39:23 (male) and 42:29 (female). For the half marathon, the records are 1:34:15 (male) and 1:47:51 (female). The event will take place on 26 April 2026, with a closing date of 22 April 2026 or earlier if capacity is reached. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
