The Lucky Run
The Lucky Run is an Irish-themed running event held in downtown Pitman, New Jersey. The 14th annual edition takes place at Ballard Park and features several participation options on a paved course through the local neighborhood and historic areas. The event is limited to 500 participants and serves as a fundraiser for the HEADstrong Foundation.
The available distances and events include:
- 5K Race (chip-timed)
- 1 Mile Kids Run (chip-timed, for ages 14 and under)
- 1 Mile Walk (not timed)
Participants in the 5K and 1 Mile Kids Run receive instant chip-timed results. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female winners, as well as winners across various age groups. A one-hour time limit is requested for participants on the 5K course. For the 1 Mile Kids Run, a parent or guardian may accompany their child without a separate registration for that specific event.
Each registered participant receives a Lucky Run shirt and a custom finisher medal. Registration by March 1 ensures size selection for the shirt. The event includes an after-party with Irish music, a best-dressed competition, and a professional photographer for race and party photos. Adult participants (21+) also receive a drink ticket valid for a Guinness, domestic beer, or craft beer at local partner locations, Merryman's Pub and Bonesaw Brewery.
