Longest Day 10K : Prairie Striders Running Club
The Longest Day 10K is a community road running event held in Brookings, South Dakota on June 20, 2026. The course consists of two loops around Dakota Nature Park and begins and ends at the Fishback Soccer Complex at the intersection of Medary Avenue and 20th Street South.
Available race formats include:
- 10 km open division
- Relay open division
Entry fees are set by registration method. Online registration is $25 per individual or per team and closes on June 18 at midnight. Day of registration is available at a higher fee and is limited to race morning. Optional shirts are sold on race morning for $5 on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Water may be provided at the course midpoint depending on weather conditions. Organizers note that hot and humid conditions are possible. Awards are given for first, second and third places in both male and female categories. All proceeds from the event support the Brookings High School and South Dakota State University cross country programs.
All participants must complete a waiver before participating. The event is described as one of only a few 10K races offered in the area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
