57th Annual Brookings Marathon
The Brookings Marathon is a long-standing running event held in Brookings, South Dakota. The course is designed to showcase the city's primary landmarks, passing through the South Dakota State University campus, the local historic district, and several municipal parks, including the Dakota Nature Park. For those participating in team events, custom medals are provided to all relay team members.
Participants can choose from a variety of race distances:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- Marathon Relay (team based)
- 5K (held the evening before the main races)
Registration management allows for entry transfers and gift registrations. There is no registration available during race week or on race day for the marathon, half marathon, or relay; these distances close one week prior to the event or when capacity limits are reached. The 5K features a certified course that begins and ends at Pioneer Park, where same-day registration is permitted. Hundreds of volunteers are stationed throughout the course to assist participants. Packet pickup is located at Pioneer Park on both the Friday evening before and the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
