The Last Best Beer Run and 5k is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Dehler Park in Billings, Montana. The event is part of Billings Craft Beer Week, which runs the week before and includes events from May 10 through May 16. The after party takes place at Dehler Park.
Events and format
The race program includes a 5k Run (no beer during the race), an Elite Beer Run, a Beer Run, and an After Party Ticket option. The no-beer 5k is limited to 300 participants. The Beer Run is limited to 500 participants and is organized in multiple waves, including an elite wave. Entry to the race includes access to the after party for participants of legal drinking age.
Course and logistics
The course runs through downtown Billings with participants using sidewalks on main streets where road closure is not possible. Beer stations are concentrated early on the course, with organizers indicating eight beer stops within the first two miles. Water is available at each beer station and portable restrooms are located near the halfway point. Bib numbers assign participants to specific waves (for example, bibs 1-100 are 5k no-beer participants; bibs 101-150 are the elite wave and wave 1; bib ranges continue through bibs 801-850). Additional on-site features include a costume contest with a Cartoons and Video Games theme, a food truck (Michelle’s Pantry), hidden-item prizes on course and at the after party, and a T-shirt order deadline of April 30.
