Event Overview
The Last Best Beer Run and 5k is a running event with a beer theme. It takes place in Billings, Montana at Dehler Park. There are several types of participation options.
Events and Distances
Participants can choose from these events:
- 5k Run (no beer): A standard 5 km run. The event is limited to 300 people. Entry includes access to the after-party for those over 21.
- Elite Beer Run: A 5 km event where participants drink beer.
- Beer Run: A 5 km event run in multiple waves, following the same course as the 5k Run. Participants drink between 8 and 10 four-ounce pours of beer along the route. This event is limited to 500 people.
Course and Amenities
The course passes beer stations. Water is available at each beer station, and bathrooms are located near the halfway point. Participants run on sidewalks through the main downtown area, with officers and volunteers at busy intersections. After the final beer stop, the road opens up for runners.
There is a themed costume contest with a Cartoons and Video Games theme. Two themed items are hidden on the course and one at the after-party; finding one and presenting it to the race director yields a prize.
After-Party and Other Details
The event concludes with a beer festival-style after-party at Dehler Park. A food truck, Michelle's Pantry, will be present. The event is part of the broader 2026 Billings Craft Beer Week. A Billings Brew Pass is available to log brewery visits during the week. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations before April 30th. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
