The New Year's Plunge takes place on January 1, 2026, at Lake Elmo in Billings, Montana (2300 Lake Elmo Drive, 59105). The event combines a run or walk around Lake Elmo with an optional polar plunge into the lake. Distances and options include:
- 3 miles Run/Walk (2 loops) + Plunge
- 1.5 miles Run/Walk (1 loop) + Plunge
- Plunge Only
- Run/Walk + Plunge (12 and under)

Entry fees listed are $30 for most events and $15 for the 12-and-under category; prices increase after December 25, 2025. Each registration includes a knit beanie, one free drink from 105 Brewery, and access to post-plunge heated tents and drinks. Billings Fish & Wildlife will be on site to discuss ice fishing and snow shoeing in the area.
Packet pickup is at 105 Brewing (815 Yellowstone River Road, Billings, MT 59105) on December 31. Race-day packet pickup and same-day registration are available near the large heated tents.
