THE L8KES RUN
The L8KES Run is a charity running event hosted by Charity for Children at Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville, New York on September 20, 2026. Races and walks take place on the park's trails and roadways and use the park landscape around the lakes.
Distances and event formats include:
- THE L8KE MONSTER both 8K and 5K with combined net time
- 8K certified run
- 5K lake trail run
- 2 Mile trail walk
- Kids Fun-Run 1200 Yards free entry
The 5K course starts on the beach path and follows wooded trails around the lakes. The 2 Mile trail walk and other events use park trails and roadways that highlight the park scenery. The 5K includes a youth division. The Kids Fun-Run is offered without an entry fee.
Registration is online only; paper or cash registrations are not accepted. Registration fees vary by event.
Participant items and services include a custom race shirt and bib for most events excluding the Kids Run and the walk, overall winners awards and acknowledgments, hydration and aid stations along the course, and free Gannon's Ice Cream for runners and walkers. Parking at Green Lakes State Park may be subject to a park fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
