Event Overview
The King's Mile is a one-mile running event held in Canterbury. The route starts at Green Court at The King's School on the north side of the Cathedral Precincts. It finishes inside the grounds of Canterbury Cathedral, with the cathedral building providing the backdrop for the finish line.
The Route
The course runs through the heart of Canterbury city centre. It passes via the King's Mile and the Marlowe Theatre before finishing inside the cathedral grounds.
Event Format
The event features three separate participant waves: an elite wave, a mass running mile, and a mass participation mile. The participation wave offers an opportunity to walk the mile. Each participant requires a valid entry. The event uses chip timing, with results published live on the event website.
Post-Run and Facilities
After the run, refreshments and stalls are available at Green Court. The event venue provides toilets but no changing facilities. Car parks are located nearby, payable locally. Full refreshments are available on-site.
