Event
The King's Mile is a one-day running event in Canterbury on 28 June 2026, organised by Sporting Events UK. The route starts at Green Court at The King's School, Canterbury, passes through the city centre and the Marlowe Theatre via the King's Mile, and finishes inside the grounds of Canterbury Cathedral.
Race details
- 1 Mile - open to entrants aged 11 and over.
- Family Mile - open to entrants aged 1 and over.
There are three main waves: an elite wave, a mass running mile and a mass participation mile that includes an option to walk with family and friends. Chip timing is used and results are provided via a live feed. Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female, and for 1st male and female in VET40, VET50 and VET60 categories. Entry fees range from £10 to £15 depending on affiliation and whether entry is advanced or on the day.
Facilities and other information
On-site facilities include toilets and full refreshments; there are no changing facilities. Car parks are available nearby and are payable locally. Advanced entries close the Wednesday before the event (subject to space); on-the-day entries may be available subject to space. Event entry supports two local charities to be announced.
