The Kingdom of Northumbria Coastal Ultra 2026

This is an ultra trail event along the Northumberland coastline, starting near Bamburgh Castle and finishing at Druridge Bay Country Park. The route passes coastal landmarks such as Beadnell Harbour, Dunstanburgh Castle, Craster Village, and Warkworth Castle. A new 27 km option runs from Boulmer to Druridge Bay alongside the established 54 km course.

The event is organised as an A-B route, so competitors must book the shuttle bus to the start or arrange their own transport. Bag drop is available at registration. Route maps are available to view and download. Well-stocked feed stations are positioned at Low Newton, Boulmer, and Warkworth Beach.

Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. Runners must carry mandatory kit in a backpack including water or fluids, a charged mobile phone with emergency contacts, food or gels, a headtorch if finishing after 4:30pm, and a lightweight jacket. At the finish all finishers receive an event medal, an exclusive long-sleeve t-shirt, and snacks and drinks. Car parking at Druridge Bay Country Park is payable by competitors.
