The Kingdom of Northumbria Coastal Ultra 2027
This is an A to B ultra trail event along the Northumberland coastline, running from the Bamburgh area to Druridge Bay Country Park. The route passes Beadnell Harbour, Dunstanburgh Castle, Craster Village and Warkworth Castle. Routes are available to view and download.
Event distances include:
- 54 km Ultra
- 27 km Trail Run
Start locations are in the Bamburgh area for the 54 km and at Boulmer Lifeboat Station for the 27 km, with the finish at Druridge Bay Country Park. The event requires runners to book a shuttle from the finish to the start before the race or to arrange their own transport, and there are no buses after the event.
There is a bag drop at registration and all bags will be transported to the finish. Well stocked feed stations are provided at Low Newton, Boulmer and Warkworth Beach for the longer route, and at Warkworth Beach for the 27 km. Live chip timing will be used.
Runners must carry a backpack containing water or fluids, a charged mobile phone with emergency contacts, food or gels, a headtorch if finishing in darkness, and a lightweight jacket. All finishers receive a metal event medal, an exclusive t shirt, and snacks and drinks. Parking at Druridge Bay Country Park is payable.
