THE KINGDOM OF NORTHUMBRIA COASTAL ULTRA 2027
The event is a coastal ultra trail run following the Northumberland coastline from near Bamburgh Castle to Druridge Bay Country Park. The route passes Beadnell Harbour, Dunstanburgh Castle, Craster Village, and Warkworth Castle. Routes are available to view and download.
Event distances:
- 54 km Ultra
- 27 km Trail Run
Start locations are specified for each distance: the 54 km starts at the car park on Links Road, Bamburgh (NE69 7AX) and the 27 km at Boulmer Lifeboat Station (NE66 3BN). The finish is at Druridge Bay Country Park (NE61 5BX). This is an A-B event; runners must either book the shuttle bus from the finish to the start before the event or arrange their own transport. The buses run to the start before the race only.
There will be a bag drop at registration and all bags will be transported to the finish. Feed stations are positioned at Low Newton, Boulmer, and Warkworth Beach for the 54 km and at Warkworth Beach for the 27 km. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North.
Runners must carry mandatory kit in a backpack, including water or fluids, a charged mobile phone with emergency contacts, food/gels, a headtorch if finishing after 16:30, and a lightweight jacket. There is a strict cut off of 18:00 for the event; participants not at the final feed station by 16:30 will not be allowed to continue. Parking at Druridge Bay Country Park is payable for all visitors. Finishers receive a medal, an exclusive T-shirt, and refreshments. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
