THE KINGDOM OF NORTHUMBRIA COASTAL ULTRA 2026

The Kingdom of Northumbria Coastal Ultra is an ultra trail event along the Northumberland coastline. The route starts near Bamburgh Castle and finishes at Druridge Bay Country Park, passing Beadnell Harbour, Dunstanburgh Castle, Craster Village and Warkworth Castle.

Event distances include:

  • 54 km Ultra
  • 27 km Ultra from Boulmer to Druridge Bay

Start locations are specified for each distance: the 54 km start at the car park on Links Road in Bamburgh and the 27 km start at Boulmer Lifeboat Station. The finish is at Druridge Bay Country Park, Morpeth. Route files are available to view and download.

This is an A-B event so runners must book the shuttle bus to the start or arrange their own transport. Bag drop is available at registration and there are no buses after the event. Feed stations are located at Low Newton, Boulmer and Warkworth Beach.

Runners must carry a backpack containing water or fluids, a charged mobile phone with emergency contacts, food or gels, a headtorch for low light conditions and a lightweight jacket. Live chip timing will be provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, an exclusive long sleeve t shirt and snacks and drinks. Car parking at Druridge Bay Country Park is payable by competitors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
