The Ivy Scholarship 5k
The Ivy Scholarship 5k is an annual walking and running event held at the Hare Pavilion within the Wilmington Riverfront in Delaware. The event supports the AKAette Scholarship Program and offers multiple participation options for athletes and supporters. Participants follow a course starting at 815 Justison St.
The event features several categories:
- 5k run and walk
- Competitive Walking 5k for participants who walk exclusively
- 1 Mile non-competitive walk
The Competitive Walking category is strictly for those who do not jog or run at any point during the course. For the 5k events, the timing is managed by R2R Timing using the MYLAPS BibTag system. Results are available online during and after the race.
Participants who pre-register are provided with event t-shirts, while day-of regisrants receive them on a first-come, first-served basis. Finisher medals and t-shirts are guaranteed for the first 170 participants. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female masters. While top overall spots are determined by gun time, age group awards are based on net chip time.
For safety and insurance reasons, dogs are not permitted at the event. Race bibs are non-transferable and registration fees are non-refundable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
