The Island Run
The Island Run is a seafront running event on 19 April 2026 organised by Sporting Events UK in partnership with the Rotary Club of Minster-on-Sea. It offers flat courses along the Kent coast on the Sheerness and Minster-on-Sea seafront and has run in various formats for over 40 years.
The event offers two distances:
- 10k minimum age 15 on race day, advanced entries £24 affiliated £26 unaffiliated on-the-day £30
- 5k minimum age 11 on race day, advanced entries £16 affiliated £18 unaffiliated on-the-day £25
Every finisher receives a unique medal commissioned for the event. Venue facilities include toilet facilities and car parking available nearby. Entry categories include affiliated and unaffiliated prices and on-the-day entries are subject to space. Advanced entries close the Wednesday prior to the event.
Under UK Athletics rules the minimum age for the 10 km race is 15 years on the day and the minimum age for the 5 km race is 11 years on the day. The Island Run raises money for local charities in the area and takes place along a mainly flat seafront route that attracts both runners aiming for fast times and local supporters.
