The Island Run
The Island Run is a flat seafront running event along the Kent coast, held on 19 April 2026 in Sheerness and Minster on Sea. Sporting Events UK and the Rotary Club of Minster on Sea have partnered to stage the race, which has taken place in various formats for over 40 years and raises money for local charities.
The course follows the seafront and is described as flat, which can suit personal best attempts and first time race participants. Every finisher receives a unique medal specially commissioned for the event.
Facilities at the venue include toilet facilities and nearby car parking. Under UK Athletics rules the minimum age is 15 years for the 10 km and 11 years for the 5 km. Entry fees for advanced entries are listed as £24 for affiliated club members and £26 for unaffiliated entrants in the 10k, and £16 affiliated and £18 unaffiliated for the 5k. On-the-day entries are subject to space and noted as £30 for the 10k and £25 for the 5k. Advanced entries close at 1pm the Wednesday prior to the event.
