The Iron Horse Half Marathon, 12k & 5k
The Iron Horse event returns to Midway, Kentucky, for its 17th annual edition, featuring multiple distances for runners and athletes. Participants can choose between three primary in-person distances held on the roads of Midway, as well as virtual options for those unable to attend the physical event. The race also includes a specific category for wheelchair participants in the longest distance.

Participants receive several race amenities as part of their registration. These include a technical running shirt featuring custom artwork, a poster created by local artist Cricket Press, and personalized bibs. All finishers receive a large medal, and participants in the 13.1 mile and 12k distances receive custom stickers. After the event, runners can access free unlimited downloads of all race photography. Age group awards are also presented based on performance.
Pre-race activities include an official shake-out run on the Saturday prior to the main event. Packet pick-up is organized over several days at various locations in the week leading up to the race. There is no packet pick-up available on the day of the race itself, though participants have the option to arrange for packet shipping in advance or have a friend collect their materials.
