The Innocent Half : Edinburgh, 8 February 2026

The Innocent Half is a half marathon held in Edinburgh on Sunday 8 February 2026. The event starts and finishes at Queen Margaret University campus in Newcraighall and uses a new route for 2026 that follows cycle paths and quiet roads.

The course runs along the Brunstane Burn Walkway and the historic Innocent Railway, passing beneath the slopes of Arthur's Seat before returning to Queen Margaret University. The surface is tarmac, the route will be marked and marshalled, and the total climb is around 150 m, making the course fairly flat.

Entry information states a fee of £25 and an optional £1.50 charity donation. The event has a maximum capacity of 400 runners. Age limit for the half marathon is 17 and over. Prizes are listed for first male and female in all age categories for online entries, and all finishers receive a medal.

Three Scottish children’s charities are named as partners: Richmond’s Hope, Kidney Kids Scotland and Firefly International, each supported through the event. The event webpage also provides race results from previous editions and a mapped route for reference. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
