About the race
The Human Race 2027 is a TAC-certified 5K held on Saturday, March 20, 2027 at Bicentennial Park in Asheboro, North Carolina. Participants may run or walk the course, which starts and finishes at Bicentennial Park.
The event is organized to raise funds for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and schools. Participating nonprofits retain 70 percent of the funds they raise; the remaining portion supports The Volunteer Center and its community initiatives. Any money collected on March 20, 2027 will go directly to The Volunteer Center.
Team participation is available. Teams should submit completed forms and collected funds to their team captain by March 1, 2027 to receive a t-shirt and to cover timing costs for runners. Team captains are responsible for bringing all registration forms and funds to The Volunteer Center on March 15 and 16, 2027. Checks should be made payable to The Human Race with the team name included in the memo. The Volunteer Center office is located at 363 S Cox Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
A Mutt Strutt portion welcomes well behaved dogs on leashes. The first three Mutt Strutt runners and the first three Mutt Strutt walkers across the finish line will receive trophies provided by the Randolph County Animal Shelter. Participation in the Mutt Strutt requires an online registration form.
