The Hilly Helmet Challenge : Hilly Helmet X (05 August 2026)
The event is a numbered edition of the Hilly Helmet Challenge held at Leighton Recreation Centre in Westbury on 05 August 2026. The course covers a distance of 4 miles and includes uphill and downhill sections.
The event raises funds for the charity Brain Tumour Support. Organisers state that 100% of each entry fee is received by the charity, while event costs are covered by event partners. An Association of Running Clubs race permit will be in place.
Every participant receives a pottery memento. Prizes are awarded to the first male and female finishers, and there is a prize for the best helmet worn on the night. The event has previously received participant-based awards in 2019, 2022 and 2024.
Facilities at Leighton Recreation Centre have been made available in past years. Westbury Cricket Club has previously provided refreshments and a barbecue and organisers hope they will do so again. The course is unsuitable for wheelchairs. Runners are not permitted to run with dogs because some trails are narrow and can become slippery.
Entry pricing is shown as a discounted rate and a standard rate for advance sign-ups, with higher fees for on-the-night entry. A service fee applies to each sign-up. The event lists a total of 150 places. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
