Santa's Scamper
Santa's Scamper is an annual Santa-themed charity fun run held in Calne. The event raises money for local charities and has previously supported organisations such as Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Dorothy House, Hope for Tomorrow, Barnardo's and Hannah's Trees, raising over £15,000 to date. The charities for the 2026 event will be announced nearer to December 2026. The organiser states that this is a fun run and not a race.
The course starts and finishes at Calne Community Campus and is approximately 4 km long, passing through the town centre where crowds are expected to cheer along the route. After the run there is an after-party area with charity stalls, festive treats, hot drinks and a guest choir. As part of the entry fee participants receive a Santa suit and a finisher's medal; suit size is determined by the chosen entry category. Entry categories and standard prices are: Adult (15+) £14.00; Youth (9-14) £12.00 and must be accompanied by an adult; Child (5-8) £12.00 and must be accompanied by an adult; Children under 5 are free but no suit or medal is provided and they must be accompanied by an adult. Entries close before the event unless sold out and no on-the-day entries are available. Pushchairs are permitted on the course with care; scooters and other skating equipment are not allowed.
