Event overview

Santa's Scamper is an annual charity fun run held in December. The event is explicitly described as a fun run and not a race. The route is approximately 4 km long. As part of the entry fee most entrants receive a Santa suit and a finisher's medal; children under 5 are free but do not receive a suit or medal.

Location and course

The run starts and finishes at Calne Community Campus, White Horse Way, Calne, Wiltshire SN11 0SP. The route covers the town centre and passes through local streets and green areas before returning to the campus.

Entry and categories

Entry prices are:

Adult (15+) £12.00
Youth (9–14) £12.00 (must be accompanied by an adult)
Child (5–8) £12.00 (must be accompanied by an adult)
Children under 5 free (must be accompanied by an adult; no suit or medal provided)

Entries close before the event if sold out and there are no on-the-day entries.

Facilities and restrictions

After the run there is an after-party area with charities present and festive refreshments and choir performances. Pushchairs are allowed on the course with care; scooters and other skating equipment are not permitted for safety reasons.

Charity and feedback

Previous beneficiaries include Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Dorothy House, Hope for Tomorrow, Barnardo's and Hannah's Trees, with over £13,000 raised to date.
