The Hillcrest Home Run 5K
The Hillcrest Home Run 5K is an annual community event held at English Landing Park in Parkville, Missouri. The event supports Hillcrest Platte County, an organization providing transitional housing and life-skills programs for local families and young adults.
Participants can choose from several event categories:
- 5K Run/Walk (Chip-Timed)
- Kids Dash (Ages 10 & Under)
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk
The 5K course is a chip-timed route designed for a smooth experience. It is a certified course characterized by its flat profile, featuring less than 20 feet of elevation gain and minimal turns. The route provides multiple vantage points for spectators to observe the race. Registration for the 5K includes a custom T-shirt, a finisher medal, and access to snacks at the finish line.
A Kids Dash is available for younger participants, with a meeting point at the start line before being escorted to the starting area. For those unable to attend in person, the Virtual 5K option allows runners to complete the distance on their own time and course.
Packet pickup is available at the Hillcrest Platte County Administrative Office in the days leading up to the race, with a second pickup option at the race site on the morning of the event. The race takes place regardless of rain, shine, snow, or cold weather conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
