The Highwayman

The Highwayman Trail Marathon is a unique narrative trail race set for July 6, 2025, in the picturesque villages of Thaxted, Great Sampford, and Hempstead, linked to the early life of Dick Turpin. The course is predominantly off-road, covering diverse terrains, and participants will navigate using written instructions rather than traditional markers. Runners will encounter five well-stocked checkpoints along the route, and upon completion, they will receive a medal and hot food.
