The Heron Proud 5K
The Heron Proud 5K is a community running event held at St. Anne's Episcopal School, 211 Silver Lake Road, Middletown, DE, on August 29, 2026. The event includes a sanctioned 5K race plus a youth fun run called the Heron Dash for children seven years and younger.

The event program lists family-friendly attractions such as a gaming truck, waterslide, foam machine, and a coffee truck. Every registrant will receive a cooling towel. Timing is provided by R2R Timing using the MYLAPS BibTag chip system; top finisher awards for overall male and female and masters are scored by gun time while other age-group awards use chip time. Awards are given across multiple youth and adult age divisions and to top walkers.
Registration options show separate pricing for adults and students. Notices state that no dogs are allowed because of insurance liability, bibs are non-transferable, and there are no refunds on registrations.
