The Henderson Shuffle

The Henderson Shuffle is a community 12-hour loop event held on Sunday 26th September 2027 in Henderson Park. Participants move repeatedly around a 4.2 km loop that follows wide, smooth cycleway paths along Henderson Creek, crosses to Border Road, and returns on a bush trail beside the stream. The course mixes open space and native greenery and is described as easy to follow.

The event is open to runners, walkers, and others who wish to complete as many laps as they choose. There are no cut-offs and no minimum pace. The path is not pushchair-friendly and bikes are not permitted on the trail sections. Most people complete a loop in about 20–30 minutes running or 40–50 minutes walking, though participants may set their own pace.

A free registration option is available for dogs; registered dogs receive a separate line on the lap board and a medal. The event village is located in Henderson Park on Wilscher Crescent near the toilet block and drinking fountain. The village houses sign-in, lap marking, and basic first aid. Participants are expected to be self-sufficient with food and hydration, though food and drinks will be available for purchase on site.

Every participant receives a medal and is eligible for hourly spot-prize draws while on the course. The Emergency and Defence Trophy is a team competition between emergency services and Armed Defence units, with FENZ noted as the 2026 champion.
