The Henderson Shuffle: Henderson Park, 27 September 2026
The Henderson Shuffle is a 12 hour community event held on Sunday 27 September 2026. Participants move repeatedly around a gentle, approximately 4 km loop that follows wide cycleway paths along Henderson Creek, reaches Border Road, and returns along a bush trail on the opposite side of the stream. The course mixes open space and native vegetation and is flat with no stairs.
Most people complete a loop in about 20–30 minutes when running or 40–50 minutes at a relaxed pace. There are no cut-offs and no minimum pace; participants may complete as many loops as they choose. Trail sections do not permit bikes. The path is pushchair friendly; wheelchair access is possible but some gravel sections may be challenging.
An event village will be located in Henderson Park on Wilscher Crescent beside the toilet block and drinking fountain. A gazebo will provide water refills and basic first aid. Participants are expected to be self-sufficient for food and hydration. A charity crew will offer hot food on site and a coffee cart will be available on Wilsher Crescent.
Every participant receives a medal and is entered into hourly spot prize draws. A small dog category is planned, and a team competition called the Toughest First Responder Trophy will see Police, Fire, and St John teams compete to complete the most laps.
