The Hardwolds 40

Hardwolds 40 is a Hardmoors Race Series ultramarathon from Beverley to Malton in North Yorkshire. Covering 47 miles with about 4600 ft of ascent, the route follows the Hudson Way to the Wolds Way, passing chalk downs and historic pockets such as Londesborough, Millington, Fridaythorpe, Thixendale, and the deserted Wharram Percy, before descending to Settrington Beacon and onto Malton. A 20-hour time limit challenges endurance.

2025 introduces a diversion Londesborough to Nunburnholme; GPX updated. Competitors may run with a support crew, use drop bags, or take a coach between finish and start. Checkpoints stock food/water, and mandatory kit is checked.
