About the race
Hardwolds 40 is a Hardmoors endurance race covering 47 miles from Beverley to Malton, with around 4,600 ft (1,402 m) of ascent. The route follows the Hudson Way to the Wolds Way, passing chalk landscapes and historic villages such as Londesborough, Millington, Thixendale and Wharram Percy, before descending to Settrington and joining the Centenary Way to Malton. A 2025 diversion adds a Londesborough–Nunburnholme spur.
Runners can go solo or as part of a relay (up to four runners). There is a 20-hour time limit, stocked checkpoints, a drop-bag system, and mandatory kit. Finishers receive a medal and T-shirt.
Support options include coach transfers and a drop-bag service. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
