Hardmoors 110
The Hardmoors 110 is a single-stage trail ultramarathon held on Saturday 5 June 2027. The 2027 race marks the 20th edition and for one year only the route returns to its original direction, running from Helmsley to Filey. The course follows much of the Cleveland Way National Trail around the North York Moors and along the Cleveland Heritage coastline.
The event covers approximately 110 miles with around 5,000 m (16,500 ft) of cumulative ascent and an overall time limit of 36 hours. The route passes through moorland and coastal sections, reaching the coast at Saltburn and continuing past Runswick Bay, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, Ravenscar and Scarborough before finishing at Filey. Multiple staffed checkpoints provide water and food, with hot drinks and drop-bag support at selected locations; two official drop-bag points are Kildale (c. 42 miles) and Ravenscar (c. 88 miles).
Entries include a mandatory tracker for online location monitoring. Support arrangements allow one support runner from Gribdale Gate (about 45 miles) to the finish; unsupported runners must carry additional mandatory kit. Relay teams of two to four runners are permitted with vehicle back-up and specified equipment requirements. The race enforces compulsory kit checks, checkpoint cutoffs, and venue-specific rules such as no dogs and adherence to marshals and route signage.
