The Grind 5K Run/Walk at Beck's Mill
The Grind is a rolling out-and-back road race through Washington County countryside with a steep "Grind" hill at the start. It is held at Beck's Mill, located at 4433 S. Beck's Mill Road, Salem, IN 47167, on 09/12/2026.

Race entry includes admission to Beck's Mill and grounds for participants and their families on race day, plus post-race breakfast and snacks. The mill grounds offer tours, historical interpretation, hiking trails, and a waterfall (dam) area near the old mill.
Registration opens 06/29/2026 and closes 08/31/2026. Shirt ordering is guaranteed only for registrations placed by 08/24/2026. Fees and shirt options follow the posted structure: $25 with a shirt (shirt order deadline 08/24), $20 without shirt if registered by 08/30, and $25 after 08/30 with no shirt guarantee. Additional shirts may be available on race day while supplies last.
Awards and timing follow the published format: finisher medals for the first 100 finishers, overall awards for the top three male and female finishers in both run and walk divisions, and age-group scoring by timer. The event is part of the Mag 7 race series. Walk registrants are required to walk the entire course; running or skipping while entered in the walk division is not permitted.
