The Great Grape Race
The Great Grape Race is a community 5K held on September 19, 2026, as part of the 28th Winesburg Reunion weekend. The route starts and finishes at Winesburg Park and follows a scenic course through surrounding farmland. The event is open to all ages.
Packet pickup is available the day of the race. Registration opens on February 2, 2026, and the registration fee is $35.00. The deadline for guaranteed event shirts is two weeks before the race; registrations after that date may not receive the requested size or a shirt.
Finish-line provisions include granola bars, bananas, and water. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers. All participants receive a voucher for an ice cream cone from Whitmer's General Store.
The race concludes at Winesburg Park where a fall festival continues with food trucks, baseball games, and other reunion activities. Parking is arranged in the field behind the park playground; drivers should pass the park entrance on TR 671, enter the drive at 7771 TR 671, and follow signs to the parking field.
