7th Annual Uncle Doug's 6-Hour Challenge
The event is a timed six hour trail challenge held on January 16, 2027 at Uncle Doug's Training Complex in Wooster, Ohio. Participants run, walk, or hike repeated laps of a 2.5 mile loop on private trails at the training complex. The course uses exclusive trails in Wayne County and features plenty of ups and downs and other terrain variations.
Entry is limited to the first 100 registrants and has a fee of $55. Entry includes a custom Uncle Doug's 6-Hour Challenge hooded sweatshirt, electronic chip timing, and one day access to the training complex. The event is a fundraiser; all proceeds will be given to Camp Nuhop as a sponsorship of the Vertical Mile event on February 6, 2027. Additional donations at registration are added to that total.
On the day of the event there is space near the start and finish for participants to set up a camp area with food and drink. A camp fire will be provided and Uncle Doug's chili will be available at some point. A unique finisher's gift will be given to attendees, and award categories will include longest mileage, shortest mileage, fastest loop, slowest loop, and other categories to be determined. A door prize may be raffled to one participant. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
